Another primate baby!

There’s definitely something in the air on our primate sections as we’ve had another birth!

Pygmy marmosets Pam and Hendrix have welcomed another baby, bringing the Small Primate House group to 16.

Section Leader Pat Stevens said: “Pam is a very experienced mum, so she’s doing really well and the baby looks great too.”

Pam and Hendrix share parental duties, with dad carrying the baby and returning it to mum for feeding.

The world’s smallest monkey species, the dominant female gives birth after a 142-day gestation period.
