The Gorongosa girdled lizard is a large, flattened, girdled lizard found on Mount Gorongosa in Mozambique and low elevation in the Chimanimani Mountains at the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Males are dark brown to black with bright orange undersides and black throats. Females and juveniles are dark brown with small cream scattered on their neck and back.

Their diet consists of a wide variety of small insects, millipedes, spiders and the occasional small vertebrate
