A rare opportunity to get up close to DZG’s rare species delighted two animal lovers from West Sussex.
Kim Skinner and Richard Hill travelled all the way from Chichester to become Keepers for a Day after Richard surprised Kim with the gift for her 21st birthday.
Richard said: “The day was absolutely amazing. We were both so excited in our lead up to the trip, but had no idea how good it would be.
“We couldn’t believe how close we were to the animals, especially the tigers, which would be our favourite bit if we had to choose.”
The couple spent the whole day working alongside keepers, meeting, feeding and mucking out a variety of animals across the whole site, including Sumatran tiger, Daseep and Amur tiger, Tschuna, giraffes, lemurs, penguins and chimpanzees.
Richard added: “I chose Dudley as it offered a full day’s experience for a reasonable price with a huge range of animals. All the keepers were really friendly, polite and informative, so thank you again for such an amazing day.”
