DZG’s Amy Paddock has just completed her first season as a full-time Trainee Zoo Keeper and is loving every second!
The 23 year-old, who’s a familiar face on site secured her dream job in July following years of hard work and determination!
Amy, from Walsall, said: “I love working here with the people and animals.
“It took a while to sink in when I heard I’d got the trainee position as I’ve wanted to do this for as long as I can remember. “
Amy, who studied animal management at Rodbaston College, first began volunteering at DZG in 2012, before beginning work as part of our Customer Services Team working in the Safari Shop from 2014.
She began hosting children’s birthday parties and Little Zoo Keeper experiences for our young visitors and secured a weekend job in August last year working with our farm animals, before gaining the full time position this year on our bird and farm section.
Curator Richard Brown, said: “Amy has shown her commitment to DZG over the years and is a great addition to our full-time team. We all wish her well with her training.”
