Stourbridge animal lover Mark Dunckley just can’t speak highly enough of his day as a Keeper at Dudley Zoo.
The 44-year-old dad-of-one, pictured above, was given the experience as a birthday present by his wife Gillian and two-year-old daughter Eva.

Mark said: “It was just amazing, words can’t described how wonderful it was to be so close to the animals and see how caring and knowledgeable the keepers are. It was absolutely phenomenal.
“The tapirs were incredible. They were lying on fresh bedding and I was told I could get down on the straw with them. I just lay there and tickled Ronnie like a big dog. He was so comfortable I think he nearly went to sleep!
“I also loved the penguins and the snow leopards and tigers were magnificent. I just wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

Mark added: “I haven’t shut up about the experience ever since. Everyone I work with knows all about my day as a zoo keeper and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.”
