DZG staff have taken delivery of a shiny new van, thanks to the generosity of a Dudley car dealer.
Dudley Motor Company, based in nearby Trindle Road, has handed over the keys to a brand new Vauxhall Combo van.
The van, worth around £12,500, will be used for school and promotional visits and has been decorated with the zoo’s distinctive design which also includes a QR code enabling direct access to the zoo’s website.
DZG Senior Curator, Derek Grove, said: “We are very grateful to Dudley Motor Company. They have always been very keen to support us and this is just another great example of local businesses helping each other out.”
The new 13 registration plated van is the second to be donated to DZG by Dudley Motor Company, who also provided a brand new van in 2005.
Dudley Motor Company General Manager, Rob Gilbert, said: “We are always happy to help DZG.
“We handed over the last van eight years ago and I know it has been of great use to the zoo.
“This new van is of similar design, with a row of seats behind the driver and front passenger seats, as well as plenty of space in the back to carry whatever they need, such as transporting their small animal collection to events around the West Midlands.”
Dudley Motor Company General Manager, Rob Gilbert hands over the keys to the new van to DZG Senior Curator, Derek Grove and Birds Section Leader, Kellie Piper, with Leah the Common Buzzard.
