Animal-mad Rosie O’Hagan had a brilliant tenth birthday when she became a Little Keeper for the Day.
Rosie, from Rugby, took part in the experience just two days after her big day and got stuck in by helping DZG staff muck out the farm animals.
Rosie said: “I really loved the zoo and I can’t believe I was able to feed the penguins and get so close to the tapirs.”
As well as the meeting our Humboldt colony and tickling the Brazilian tapirs, Rosie was also able to get hands-on with some of the Discovery Centre’s smaller critters.
Dad, Michael O’Hagan, added: “Rosie has always loved animals so this seemed the perfect birthday treat. The zoo keepers were very friendly and knowledgeable too.”
