8 days to go. . .
Brazilian tapir, Chico, is looking forward to some extra tickling time with his favourite keepers on Christmas Day.
And there’s not long to wait as there’s only eight days to go until the big event which is the only day of the year that DZG is closed to the public.
Christmas Day means business as usual on site, as keeping staff still need to feed and care for the hundreds of rare and exotic species in the collection.
But as that means there’s no visitors they also get to spend extra time spoiling their favourite animals with festive treats and cuddles and lots of tummy tickling for Chico, Meena and Ronnie !
If you fancy the chance to tickle a tapir, why not book a DZG Be a Keeper Day or Little Zoo Keeper experience, where you’ll not only be given the opportunity to meet the residents in the South American paddock, but you’ll also be helping care for many of the other rare animals across the 40-acre site.
