The countdown is on to this year’s DZG Onesie Walk.
There’s just one month to go to our second onesie event to raise much-needed money for Sumatran tigers in the wild.
But there’s still time to sign up for the 5km sponsored walk around the zoo’s 40-acre site, which takes place on Saturday, May 2.
Funds raised will be split between DZG’s conservation projects and 21st Century Tiger, a charity which supports tigers in the wild.
DZG Media and Communications Officer Jane Thomas said: “The event is open to all ages and offers participants a chance to see their favourite exotic animals and raise vital funds for two extremely worthwhile causes at the same time.
“Wearing a onesie or fancy dress is optional, but it all adds to the fun!”
Starting at 10.30 am, registration costs £5 per adult and £2.50 per child (3-15 yrs), with under 3s free. Zoo admission is included and up to four spectators per participant will be admitted at a discounted rate of £5 per person (adult, child or concession). These need to be purchased prior to the date.
At the end of the walk, entertainment and refreshments are available in the Castle Courtyard.
Please note whilst this walk is open to all people of ages and abilities, the nature of our historic site means that in parts the paths are steep and in some areas there are steps.
