A ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience…
…to get up close and personal with many exotic and endangered animals

Work alongside a Zoo Keeper for a day to discover what goes on behind the scenes here at Dudley Zoo

This exclusive hands on experience provides a wide range of varied activities from preparing food, feeding animals, cleaning enclosures and animal enrichment.

The day covers all animal sections in the Zoo and some of the animals you should expect to be working alongside include:
Tigers • Orangutans • Giraffes • Penguins • Chimps • Lions plus many more.

You will learn about and encounter many exotic and endangered species throughout the day.

This fantastic experience is only…

£185 for one person
This experience includes zoo admission, lunch, souvenir gift and one guest admission ticket for the day to visit the Zoo only *

£250 for 2 people
This experience includes zoo admission, lunch and souvenir gift for 2 people.
Two people work alongside each other with the same animals throughout the whole day.

*Please note that for health & safety reasons the guest of the ‘Keeper for the Day’ cannot join in this experience & will not be allowed access to any keeper or animal areas at any time.

The experience starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm and takes place on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays & Wednesdays all year round.
Participants must be aged 14 years or over.
Please note the experience for participants aged 14 and 15 years will not involve the big cats.

All the funds raised through this scheme are used on conservation and animal projects selected by the Keepers themselves.

Little Zoo Keepers
(8 - 13 yrs)
An all day experience for only £105 for one child or £170 for two children

Help to feed, clean and care for the animals on the Farm. Go behind the scenes to see how our Zoo works and meet some other animals like Giraffes, Tapirs and Red Pandas
Includes a goody bag and one adult admission per child *

*Please note that for health & safety reasons no other child/children will be allowed to join in with the experience unless pre-booked and they will not be allowed access to any keepers or animal areas at any time.

Please note:-

  • Gift certificates are valid for 12months from the date of purchase.
  • It is advisable to pre-book a date at least 3 months in advance and within 3 months of the expiry date.
  • There will be a £10 charge to cover administration costs if a booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the experience date booked.
  • Refunds can only be made to the purchaser and must be applied for within 3 months of the expiry date. Refunds will be subject to a £10 charge to cover administration costs.
  • A six months extension can be applied for up to 7 days prior to the expiry date subject to a £25 charge.

Take advantage of the Hotel’s convenient location just a short 10 minute walk from the Zoo entrance and extend your day’s visit into an overnight break. Discounted Zoo tickets are available for a second day visit or ask us about visiting other local attractions at reduced rates.
