We’re saying another thank you to Lichfield-based business, Newell Rubbermaid, who’ve bin so kind to us!
The company regularly donate their surplus stock for use in our daily chores and this time we received 50 plastic bins, which have been distributed to all sections across the zoo’s 40-acre site.
Assistant Curator, Jay Haywood, said: “Newell Rubbermaid are always so generous to us and save us thousands of pounds each year through their donations and it took two trips to collect all the bins they had for us.
“Keepers have lots of uses for bins here on site, including mucking out duties, carrying animal feed and we’ve even used them for transporting prickly porcupines from one enclosure to another in the past too, so they’ll be very much used.”
This latest donation comes just a few weeks after they sent us an enormous load of saws, dustpan and brushes, pens, pencils, buckets and drill bits.
