Snow stunning

We’ve seen plenty of Christmas card worthy scenes here at DZG over the last few days as snow blanketed the 40-acre site and transformed it into a Winter Wonderland!

More than ten inches covered the hilly site and provided picturesque glistening backdrops to the few exotic species who enjoyed playing out in the white stuff, but also forced DZG to close to the public for three days.

But armed with snow shovels, our keeping team, gardeners, administration staff and the Zoo Director, got to work on Monday clearing pathways around the zoo so we could safely re-open to visitors yesterday.

We hope you enjoy some the stunning site shots captured by our staff…
