Picking peppers

Rhino iguana, Jane, couldn’t wait to munch her favourite food when keepers delivered her daily breakfast.

Keepers have discovered the seven year-old has a particular fondness for peppers and filmed her picking all the sweet tasting vegetables out of her food bowl to enjoy first.

Senior Keeper, Sam Grove, said: “Jane will always eat the peppers first, it doesn’t matter what colour they are or where they are in the bowl, she’ll root through the other vegetables to find them and they’re gone in a flash.”

As well as peppers, Jane has a daily diet of savoy cabbage, spring greens, sweetheart cabbage as well as mealworms and locusts.
