Panto baddie to open grotto!

The elves are carrying out final checks in Santa’s Winter Wonderland grotto ready for tomorrow and we’re delighted it’s being officially opened by the baddie of this year’s DZG sponsored Wolverhampton Grand Theatre’s pantomime!

The Bill star, Graham Cole, who played PC Tony Stamp in the long-running show for 25 years and is starring as henchman Fleshcreep in this year’s Christmas show, will be visiting the zoo tomorrow morning to welcome Santa to the 11th century castle and greet his first young visitors!

Today we’re welcoming Midlands-based children’s charity, Mad Hatters, on site for their annual Christmas party with more than 300 children with special educational needs and disabilities who’ll all be meeting the man in red.

DZG Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “We are delighted Graham will be joining us at the opening of Santa’s grotto this year.

“Our elves have been working their magic to transform the inside of our 11th century castle into our Winter Wonderland and we’re looking forward to meeting lots of children to the grotto over the next three weeks.”
