Access For Visitors With Special Needs

Dudley Zoological Gardens welcomes all visitors to its site. We recognise that visiting our heritage & conservation site may present difficulties for people with disabilities, therefore we are continually improving procedures and provide extra provision where possible to ensure that all our visitors can enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable day out. Where access to certain areas is not possible for various reasons, improved interpretation and alternative services will wherever possible assist in overcoming these restrictions.

If you experience difficulties in using our website or require further information and advice for a visit please telephone us on 01384 215313 or email reception@dudleyzoo.org.uk

The nature of our historic site means that in parts the paths are steep and in some areas there are steps.

Training in disability awareness is a continuous process. In particular, Presenters, Keeping & Customer Service employees are trained to interpret and assist with all visitors needs.

We can provide a land train to assist visitors with access to the top of the site. If you require this service please call 01384 215313 for availability.

We welcome assistance dogs on site except in animal contact areas.

Disabled parking and drop off points are available.

A BSL guide to sign & personal guides for audio tours are available by prior appointment

Disabled facilities are available in all toilets

Wheelchairs are available to hire from the main entrance, please call 01384 215313 to reserve. A £10 refundable deposit and 2 forms of identification are required. A complimentary admission is provided to commit one carer for wheelchair users.
