Dudley Zoological Gardens is the perfect venue for your personal or corporate event and has a wide range of facilities to cater for all group sizes. Set in 40 acres we are home to over 1,000 animals from around the world.
Constructed between 1935 -37, this listed Tecton building became known affectionately as the Queen Mary Ballroom as the layout reflects that of a liner. Lots of glamorous formal functions were held here in the 40s/50s and the main room still has its original rotating mirrored ceiling ball. It sits at the top of the Zoo opposite the sealion pool.
It was here that comedian Lenny Henry launched his career with impersonation and stand-up comedy routines.
To celebrate a special occasion the Queen Mary Restaurant provides the perfect location. It can accommodate up to 250 people for personal or corporate events. Event bookings are subject to availability and can only be accommodated out of season and during evenings.
Located next to the Discovery Centre which is home to a selection of small mammals & reptiles, this rainforest themed room is ideal for small groups & meetings (max 40 people). The room offers visual and technical facilities.

A purpose built themed theatre that holds up to 70 people offering visual and technical facilities. The theatre is ideal for offering unique interactive animal presentations as part of your event.
For exclusive evenings you can erect a marquee within the 11th century Castle Courtyard for your guests to use. This makes a perfect Wedding venue! All functions can start no earlier than 6.30 pm on the evening of your event.
The Courtyard can hold up to 5,000 people for large events. In recent years we have welcomed Welsh diva Katherine Jenkins and Status Quo who have performed within the Castle grounds.
A visit to Dudley Castle can be a surreal experience given its unique setting in the grounds of a Zoo. There have been many reports of spiritual activity throughout the site making Dudley Castle an ideal venue for your Paranormal Event. It is one of Britain’s most haunted locations. Daily feeding talks and displays, within beautifully landscaped gardens, enable you and your guests to enjoy the ultimate fun filled day out. A marquee can be erected within the grounds of the majestic 11th century castle courtyard for your guests to use.
