Easter eggs-travaganza!

APRIL 13 – 25, 2011: More than 40,000 visitors flocked to DZG throughout the holiday period, where a handful of new animal arrivals proved firm favourites with the crowds.

Chicks_7183DZG Chief Executive Peter Suddock said: “We’ve had a fantastic Easter and Bank Holiday period with visitor figures topping 40,000.

“There’s been lots going on across the site for youngsters, plus talks and feeds and Creature Features, and of course we have several new arrivals for our visitors to meet including giraffes, camels and a baby tapir.   ?”Most of the new arrivals are the result of many months planning and liaison with UK?and European collections as part of international conservation programmes and we are delighted to have so many important new additions to DZG.”   CAPTION: Keeper Mollie Lloyd shows ten-year-old Jessica Isherwood, of Wombourne, newborn chicks in the farm barns.
