Our beautiful Asiatic lioness, Asha is 11 today!
Senior Keeper, Sarah Evans, said: “Asha is mellowing as she gets older, as she has been known to be quite feisty.
“But she’s quite a character, so she’s always a favourite with keepers.”
In celebration of her birthday, keepers will be treating the big cat to her favourite enrichment – a hessian sack stuffed full of prey bedding.
Sarah added: “Asha loves hessian sacks, particularly if they’re full of used bedding, which is usually either giraffe or sheep as they’re great for her to grab hold of in her mouth and run around her one-acre paddock with.”
Add a visit to Lion Ridge if you’re on site today and wish her many happy returns!
